Situation
Three friends and I discussing if we should coordinate next year's class schedule.
They are my groupmates for this semester
- 'Mr. Photographer' - an uprising, potential profesional photographer. You should check his work. He has a picture in the Nanyang Chronicle of this issue. Should be coming up with a picture blog soon.
- 'Ms. Princess' - seems to be from a prominent group of royalty know as the '7 princesses'
- 'Ms. Hair-Player' - has the ability to play with her hair for hours
The Beginning
I asked 'Ms. Princess' about next years class timetable and if she is coordinating it with 'Ms. Hair-Player'. She said there is is a very high possibility. When she repeated the question to me, I was still not certain. Previously, I said maybe I wanted a randomized schedule. I was branded a 'traitor' for considering such an option.
The Complication
I have had roughly the same group members ever since Uni started. Yes, I enjoy working with this group! Yes, we do work efficiently and understand each other! Yes, our working style works for all of us! Yes, I have made good friends with this people!
However, I wonder what is it like to work with other people. Maybe meet some new people. People always say Uni is a place to make friends and I just wonder if i confine myself to this same group for another sem am I missing out on opportunities to meet other people.Probably I could meet other people through activities but I feel that through project work, its the easiest way to know a person for real and also, you don't waste time. You get to interact as well as finish work. Activities sometimes I feel can waste your time.
The Advice
The thing about the Accountancy Course is that projects are crucial. If you have the right group, you can save a lot of time and probably score better. So, trying to join a new group without knowing which group will accept me is risky. It could be very good ( I make new friends that I can click with) or very bad (Use your imagination). 'Mr. Photographer' pointed out that people will arrange their classes with their cliques so that they can have their selected groups. In short, I would probably only be able to join the 'leftovers' and its risky because they must have been left out for a reason.
The Dilemma
Thus, I need more advice on what to do actually. I need more information to be persuaded further. I do want a good project group but I also want to improve my networking. I can't decide whether it is more important to strengthen the bond I have with my current friends so we can become 'Great' friends OR try and make new friends so that in my Uni life, I would have known more people.
The Question
So, what should I do?
- Try to make my own scedule?
- or Sychronise with my friend's schedules?
hair player sounds perverse. i dont play with my hair, i look out for and try my best to eliminate split ends.
